Hunting, shooting and fishing, both continental and sea fishing, are regulated activities in Spain and permits are required to practise all modalities of these sports.
The regulation of all these is the responsibility of the regional authorities for the environment and permits as well as information on seasons, restrictions, etc must be requested from these regional departments. Some Spanish rivers, like the Ebro, run across several regions. Prospective anglers will require more than one permit when fishing in more than one venue, if these belong to different autonomous regions.
